Peters hails Shrews' spirit

Shrewsbury Town manager Gary Peters praised the never-say-die attitude of his players after they bounced back from a three-goal deficit to hold MK Dons to a 3-3 draw.

The Shrews fell 3-0 down inside 40 minutes against the league leaders at the New Meadow on Tuesday evening.

However, two second-half goals from James Constable on his home debut and an earlier strike from Kelvin Langmead earned Peters' side an unlikely point.

"The lads showed great character and spirit and it's probably the best point we are going to get for a long time," he told the club's official website.

"Milton Keynes are the best side in the division by a mile and in the first half we couldn't get near to them, but we had to show character and they certainly did that.

"We said at half-time that they had to step up and be counted - it was the time we were going to find out about ourselves and our players.

"We won't get carried away with anything but I want the lads to realise how good they can be."
