Murray woe strikes Shrews

Shrewsbury Town will be without Paul Murray for six weeks after scans revealed the midfielder has suffered a partial rupture of his Achilles tendon.

Murray picked up the injury during last weekend's 1-0 League Two win at Exeter City.

"It's a blow to lose Paul for six weeks but if it had been a full rupture it could have been anywhere between six-to-nine months," manager Paul Simpson told the club's official website.

"Initially Paul thought that it was just a reaction to a kick he had taken during the game."

Meanwhile, the Shrews will also be without David Hunt for a further three weeks with knee ligament damage.
