McIntyre breaks leg

Tests have revealed that Shrewsbury Town player Kevin McIntyre has suffered a double fracture of his right fibula.

McIntyre suffered the injury during the first half of Saturday's 1-1 draw with Port Vale but soldiered on until the second period.

The original prognosis of the problem was that the midfielder suffered a calf injury, but a scan has revealed a break of the bone in the leg.

Shrews manager Paul Simpson told the club's official website: "It's a big blow for Kevin and for us as he's been doing well for us recently.

"We will have a better idea of the long-term prognosis once we've seen the specialist and will have a better understanding how it will affect us."
