McIntyre boost for Shrews

Shrewsbury Town midfielder Kevin McIntyre could be back in action from a leg fracture within six weeks.

McIntyre picked up the injury in last weekend's 1-1 draw with Port Vale and was initially expected to miss the majority of the rest of the season.

"Kevin has seen the specialist and it's good news for him and us as he said that he could be back within six weeks," manager Paul Simpson told the club's official website.

"It's a big boost for us and it gives him a goal to aim for as the original fear was that he may have needed an operation.

"Kevin has been a big part of the squad so far this season and let's hope he is back playing very shortly."
