Shrewsbury Town's new manager Paul Simpson has made his first signing, snapping up Doncaster Rovers defender Graeme Lee on loan until the end of the season.

The 29-year-old has fallen down the pecking order with Rovers and recently spent a month out on loan at Hartlepool United.

Simpson told his club's official website: "I'm delighted to have got Graeme in on loan as he is the experienced sort of player that I am looking to bring into the club.

"He's played a lot of games and has been involved in promotions and he knows this league.

"Hopefully he can come in and have a good look at what we are doing and we can have a look to see if there is something more long-term that we can do.

"I've seen a lot of Graeme over the years and know what he is all about and he is the type of character that I want to bring in."
