Holt handed League Two award

Shrewsbury Town frontman Grant Holt has been named as the League Two Player of the Year.

The 27-year-old has netted 26 goals for the Shrews this term, including five in a 7-0 Johnstone's Paint Trophy win at Wycombe Wanderers.

He told his club's official website: "It's a great honour to get this award, which hopefully says I'm having a successful season and I'm certainly happy to have got 26 goals so far.

"I want to get to 30 and if I do that sooner rather than later it will hopefully help us to get promoted.

"We're in the shake-up with just a few games to go and if we end up getting into League One, I'll be delighted that my goals have made a contribution."
