Harrold snubs Swedish switch

Matt Harrold turned down the chance to join a club in Sweden before joining Shrewsbury on a two-year deal. The 25-year-old, who was out of contract after leaving Wycombe, was offered a deal by Swedish side Orgryte following a successful trial. But the striker felt it would not have been the right move for him and was more than happy to instead join Graham Turner's men."I got a call over the summer to say that the club was interested and when pre-season was starting I got another call off the coach and then the manager," he told the club's official website."At the time I was going to Sweden for a week for a trial over there with a club called Orgryte. I played a game for them, did well and enjoyed my time there; they offered me a deal to stay out there but it wasn't the right move for me and my family at this time."On choosing Shrewsbury, added: "I was impressed with the stadium and facilities, had a chat with the manager and he told me of the club's ambitions. Those points really attracted me as I'm ambitious and want to play at a higher level and hope to do it with Shrewsbury."
