Gilks keen on Shrews stay

Goalkeeper Matt Gilks would jump at the chance to make his loan move to Shrewsbury Town a permanent transfer.

The 26-year-old former Rochdale, Norwich City and now Blackpool keeper has made two appearances for the Shrews since joining the League Two club on loan last month.

"This is a real chance to show what I can do," admitted Gilks.

"My career stalled at Norwich where I was in top form last season without ever playing and my chances have been limited at Blackpool.

"I've played 200 games for Rochdale, so I know what League Two's about and now at Shrewsbury this could be a real turning point for me. I'd jump at the chance to stay on."
