Shrewsbury Town goalkeeper Ryan Esson is hoping to make a return to action before the end of the year, having been sidelined for more than three months due to a fractured cheekbone.
The 26-year-old is finally back in full training and wants to get back in the fold as he attempts to make up for lost time, following his summer arrival from Aberdeen.
He told the Shropshire Star: "I'm pretty much doing everything now which is pleasing and it's now just a case of getting the sharpness.
"It's been difficult because the lads have had a lot of games recently and a lot of their work is based on preparing for the next game and recovering, so that limits how much I can get involved at the moment.
"But I understand totally that you can't revolve the whole training programme around a goalkeeper.
"Hopefully after another week or two or training, I may be able to sneak a game in before the end of the year."
