Constable shines for Shrews

Shrewsbury new boy James Constable won praise from manager Gary Peters after opening his Town account with a goal in the 1-1 draw with Brentford.

The 23-year-old former Kidderminster Harriers striker joined the Shrews just before the transfer window shut and made his mark soon after coming on as a sub at Griffin Park.

Peters told the club's official website: "James Constable came on and showed he's hungry for goals.

"He's a goalscorer and when he gets into a scoring position, he's not going to be looking to play a pass, he's going to find a way to get a shot in.

"With having James and Guy Madjo in there who are both that type of player, we're going to get goals now I'm absolutely sure of that."
