Bright added to Shrews squad

Shrewsbury Town boss Paul Simpson has added Kris Bright to the squad ahead of the start of the League Two campaign.

The 22-year-old striker has penned a two-year deal after impressing in pre-season.

Bright, who was born in New Zealand and grew up in Auckland, was delighted to have signed and after speaking to the club's official website, he said: "I'm really happy to be here and with the gaffer and his plans for the season ahead.

"I think it will be a good opportunity to come to Shrewsbury and I'm really looking forward to the challenge."

Simpson also said: "After seeing Kris in training for a couple of days and then how he performed at Tranmere, I had seen enough to want to offer him a deal.

"After a weekend of negotiation about how we would get his clearance I'm pleased that we are now at the point where Kris has signed a deal."
