Window frustrates Shrews boss

Shrews have until 5pm on Monday to complete any permanent deals but, unlike in the Premier League, the emergency loan window then soon reopens to provide Simpson with a further opportunity to bolster his ranks.[LNB]He told the club's official website: "It's driving us mad to be honest with you. On Wednesday night my final phonecall to the chairman was at about 11.20pm as we were still trying to get close to doing things.[LNB]"At the moment we're getting a lot of disappointment but that won't put us off. We'll keep working to try and get players in who we can afford, who want to come and play for us and hopefully that will happen before Monday or when the loan window opens back up.[LNB]"We can still use the loan market. Ideally we'd like to get permanent signings in because there are one or two we have earmarked who we think could help us in the future as well, but if we can't get them by Monday then there's no point getting screwed up.[LNB]"So far it's been really surprising, when everyone tells us clubs are struggling because of the recession, we're in a position where the chairman wants to strengthen the squad but we just can't get the ones we want."[LNB][LNB]
