Tutte facing Shrews check

27 December 2010 15:30
Shrewsbury's Andrew Tutte must overcome a late fitness test if he is to make his long-awaited debut at Lincoln. The on-loan Manchester City midfielder is yet to pull on a Shrews shirt having been hampered by a back problem since his switch towards the end of November but is nearing a return to fitness. However, he has not missed much on-field action with matches against Accrington, Oxford and Bury postponed and just a 1-1 draw against Cheltenham to keep Town fans warm over the past four-and-a-half weeks. Benjamin van den Broek has undergone surgery on the knee problem that has kept him out in recent weeks and will be on the sidelines until February at the earliest, while fellow midfielder Craig Disley is expected to rest a hip injury in the hope he can avoid surgery himself. Winger Lionel Ainsworth could return to the starting line-up against the Imps after getting three weeks training under his belt since his 11-minute return from the substitutes bench against Cheltenham last time out.
