Turner wants Shrews momentum

Graham Turner has called for his Shrewsbury side to keep their new-found momentum going and build on the uplifting spirit within the camp. Saturday`s 1-1 draw at Stevenage, which followed Town`s battling FA Cup performance at Southampton, made it seven points from a possible nine after a run of just one win in six league games. Shrews never slipped lower than fifth during their disappointing sequence but they are now back up to third and just four points off leaders Chesterfield as they battle for automatic promotion and a top-three finish. "Saturday`s result keeps us a few points clear of our opponents, and we're still right in the thick of things as far as the top seven is concerned," said Turner. "It's been an encouraging few weeks for us. The lads need to try and keep it going so we keep that pressure on the leading sides in the division. "There's no reason why we can't do that. The quality is definitely there and the buzz around the squad is there for all to see."
