Turner rues penalty decision

Shrewsbury boss Graham Turner was left disappointed with the referee after watching his side fall to a 1-0 defeat at Morecambe. Kevin McIntyre was denied an early penalty when he appeared to have been held in the box, before Craig Stanley`s 83rd-minute header secured the Shrimps all three points, much to Turner's dismay. Turner said: "The referee said he didn't give the penalty because he played the advantage, but that doesn't make much sense to me. We missed the chance that we had created but he could have called it back and things may have been a bit different. "After a good start it all went a bit ragged in the first half and that carried into the second half as well, but we still had enough balls going across the box and got in enough decent positions to have scored, but we didn't. "Chris Neal was outstanding for us and made some great saves but we have to do better going forward and we will learn from that. "We now have to analyse the game constructively and start again. We know we need to produce a better final ball and show more up front and if we do that we will be okay."
