Turner - It's in Wycombe's hands

30 April 2011 20:30
Shrewsbury boss Graham Turner admitted his side are second favourites for the final automatic promotion berth despite securing a 1-0 win at Cheltenham. Mark Wright scored the only goal of the game with 10 minutes on the clock, but Shrewsbury head into the final weekend of the season one point behind Wycombe in the final automatic promotion spot. Wanderers triumphed 3-1 at already-promoted Bury and Shrews boss Graham Turner struggled to hide his disappointment with the Gigg Lane result. "Wycombe have won, but there was always that problem with Bury," he said. "They were promoted last week and the celebrations were still there despite the fact that they could have finished up as champions. "That said there is always that suspicion that players take the foot off the gas. "Wycombe are now in the driving season but all we can do is to win our own game and hope that the result goes our way at Wycombe."
