Turner happy with Shrews fightback

Shrewsbury boss Graham Turner was pleased with the way his side refused to lie down in their 2-1 Carling Cup second round defeat by Barclays Premier League side Stoke. The Potters secured a comfortable first-half lead with headed goals by Jonathan Walters and Tuncay Sanli but the Shrews threatened a comeback when Steve Leslie headed in at the back post in the 79th minute. "We were too cautious in the first half and afraid of what Premier League players might do," Turner said. "But we then pushed on and passed with more purpose. Overall the effort from my players was very pleasing."
