Symes seeking Stanley extension

The 25-year-old joined Stanley from Shrews two weeks ago as a replacement for Paul Mullin who moved to Bradford. And despite the pressure of replacing the Stanley stalwart, Symes is hopeful that he can do enough during his loan spell to make his stay long-term. "I know Paul (Mullin) scored a lot of goals here, so people will expect he will be replaced and someone will score as many goals as him. But I haven't really thought about that," he told the Lancashire Telegraph. "I would like to come here next year. I've enjoyed it, so we'll just see what happens at the end of the season. I'm out of contract at Shrewsbury and we haven't been told what's happening yet, but I don't think I'll be staying so obviously I've got to look elsewhere. "My performances have been ok here. I just need to start putting a couple of goals in. It's your job, isn't it? You've got to score goals."
