14 November 2010 00:12
Boro pegged back by Shrews Honours were shared at Broadhall Way as Stevenage and Shrewsbury produced an entertaining 1-1 draw. Stevenage got themselves off to a dream start with a goal in the eighth minute. Lawrie Wilson found Chris Holroyd in Shrews' penalty area and he pounced clinically from close range. Wilson almost doubled the lead shortly after, while Ben May also tested goalkeeper Chris Neal with a shot from just outside the box. As Stevenage continued to dominate, Michael Bostwick controlled well before lashing in a crisp shot which forced another decent save from Neal. Shrewsbury emerged with renewed impetus after the interval and equalised 10 minutes in. Benjamin Van den Broek crossed for Matt Harrold and he could scarcely miss from 10 yards. Holroyd almost put Stevenage back in front in the closing stages but his shot fizzed inches wide.
