Shrewsbury earned a goalless draw with Coventry in a pre-season friendly at the Greenhous Meadow Stadium.
New signing Lukas Jutkiewicz, signed from Everton, started and twice came close to putting the Sky Blues ahead in the first half with Jake Robinson firing wide for the League Two side.
Lee Carsley, named Coventry captain following his move from Birmingham, shot weakly at Shrews stopper Chris Neal while Steven Leslie test Keiren Westwood with a powerful shot from distance at the other end but neither side could make the breakthrough.
