Simpson slams 'sparkless' Shrews

Second-half goals from Gary King and Dean Winnard set Stanley up with a home tie against Bury in the Northern Section quarter finals and left Simpson bemoaning his side's disjointed performance. "We were very poor and there's not much more to say after that," he said. "In the second half we didn't get started at all. The first half was a bit of a non-entity with neither side looking like scoring. At no point did we have any spark about us and I have to say that is a concern." Simpson subsequently suggested he may dip into the transfer market in a bid to lift his flagging side, who are now without a win in four games. "It doesn't look a good team right now, where as we did a few weeks ago. The training hasn't changed but there has been a mental change in the players," he continued. "We put a strong team out but that makes no difference if you don't apply yourself properly. We look flat and we need a spark. I'll try to bring in some new faces this week. I have to say I'm not confident of getting people in for Saturday's game against Aldershot, but that won't stop me trying."
