Simpson's side have failed to score in the four game since beating Bournemouth 1-0 on February 27 and have subsequently slipped five points off the play-off places.[LNB]"We never troubled them. We didn't score and if you make stupid mistakes like we do and are poor in attack and weak in defence it doesn't matter if you're playing the team at the top or at the bottom," said Simpson, who also attacked the home fans after they chanted "what a load of rubbish" at the end of the match.[LNB]He added: "I find it embarrassing that sane human beings can come in with that sort of mentality, but this is football and this is today's society where there's no respect.[LNB]"The truth is I feel let down by the players. They have it easy to hide behind the abuse that the manager gets."[LNB]Shrewsbury are now five points off the top seven and Simpson concluded: "People will laugh if I talk about automatic promotion and the way we've played recently, we won't have much of a chance of the play-offs."[LNB][LNB]
