Simpson seeking Shrews additions
The Shrews fell just short of promotion last season as they were beaten 1-0 by Gillingham in the League Two play-off final at Wembley and Simpson is hoping to bolster his squad ahead of the season opener against Burton on August 8.
He told the club's official website: "It's a constant job of looking to improve the squad.
"I am sure all managers are looking around for that last little piece of the jigsaw - I think we need a couple of pieces.
"Hopefully it will all be in place come the Burton Albion game."
