The former Preston chief signed a three-year deal when he succeeded Gary Peters in March 2008 and took the club to the play-off final in May. He told the club's official website: "I'm delighted that the chairman has asked me to extend my contract by 12 months. "Hopefully we can continue to build like we can have done since I joined the club and we can all help to bring success to the club."
