Simpson eager for away success

Despite having racked up 14 victories from their 22 matches at the Prostar Stadium so far this season, the Shrews have managed just one win on their travels from a possible 21 - drawing an incredible 12. To say Town's away form has hampered their promotion hopes would be somewhat of an understatement. But with the club just one point outside the play-off places and facing two of their remaining three games away from home, Simpson knows they have to set the record straight. "Our away performances have been a lot better than the results," he stressed on the club's official website. "You need to turn performances into results and there's no better time than the present to do that. "If we don't do it that will mean we haven't been good enough, and if we can do it, at least we'll be taking some good results into the play-offs with us." He added: "It's still there for us, there's still an opportunity. But we keep saying we have to do our jobs properly. The table doesn't tell lies after this many games. I believe the players are better than their league position, but if you don't defend properly and don't do your jobs right at the other end it can cost you."
