Simpson: Don't let promotion slip
Shrews worked their way back into the top seven with Saturday's 2-1 win at Rotherham and could even secure a play-off berth this weekend against Lincoln, although Dagenham and Morecambe may put pay to that when they play their respective games in hand on Tuesday night.
Simpson is prepared for the challenge to go to the last day and what could be a season-defining trip to meet the Daggers at Victoria Road, as long as he sees his players fulfil what has been almost a year of promise.
"We mustn't let this slip now," he said on the club's official website.
"We have to train right and make sure we're ready against Lincoln. We
could be in an even stronger position (come the weekend) but we're our own biggest danger.
"Whether a win against Lincoln would be enough to secure a play-off place, who knows? But if we have to go down to the last day to achieve it then we'll have to be ready for that."
