Simpson admits Shrews were 'stuffed'
Paul Benson, a summer transfer target for the Shrews, did the damage with a first-half hat-trick and netted a fourth goal after the break.
Scott Griffiths scored the home side's other goal.
Simpson's side were booed off the pitch by their travelling fans and the Town boss was naturally unhappy with the result.
"It's me that gets the abuse when we come off, the players can go away and not worry about it, but there a few things that they need to concern themselves with," said Simpson.
"We lose as a group and we have been well and truly stuffed."
