Shrews monitoring Winfield

Graham Turner must decide whether Dave Winfield is ready for his Shrewsbury debut at home to neighbours Wolves.

The centre-back, a summer signing from Wycombe, suffered a hamstring injury in pre-season but has returned to the bench as an unused substitute for the club's last two games and got 90 minutes under his belt for the reserves in midweek.

Midfielder Paul Parry is set to miss out having been forced off in Tuesday's 1-1 draw at Bristol City after just 35 minutes nursing a hip problem.

The derby clash is again expected to come too soon for defender Tamika Mkandawire (hamstring) and striker John Marsden (foot).

Wolves boss Kenny Jackett is unlikely to make wholesale changes despite tasting league defeat for the first time this season against Walsall in midweek.

The League One title favourites went down 1-0 at home to their local rivals, ending a five-match winning run, but Jackett insists there will not be many, if any, changes to his side.

Jackett does have options in the shape of Leigh Griffiths, Zeli Ismail and Richard Stearman should he choose to bring in one or two fresh faces.

Fit-again midfielder Dave Edwards could make the bench but defender George Elokobi (hamstring) remains unavailable.
