Riley hoping for return as Shrewsbury chase survival boost

Shrewsbury will look to move closer to Sky Bet League One safety when they host Southend on Saturday.

Midfielder Abu Ogogo could keep his place after making his return from a serious knee injury against Northampton.

Joe Riley, an unused substitute against Walsall last week, will look to return to the squad after being left out for the trip to Sixfields on Monday.

Shrewsbury are three points above the relegation zone although rivals Port Vale have a game in hand.

Southend could have left-back Ben Coker available again following a knee problem as they chase a late play-off push.

Defender John White missed last weekend's home defeat by MK Dons with a knee injury, so will be assessed.

Goalkeeper Christian Walton has seen his emergency loan spell from Brighton extended, with Mark Oxley (elbow) and fellow stopper Ted Smith (wrist) both still continuing their rehabilitation.

Centre-half Ryan Inniss has been ruled out for the rest of the campaign because of a dislocated shoulder.
