Shrewsbury may hand Tyler Roberts his debut against Oldham

Tyler Roberts could be handed his Shrewsbury debut after he joined from West Brom.

The 18-year-old striker moved to Greenhouse Meadow on loan for the rest of the season, having started the campaign at Oxford, scoring twice in 14 games.

Adam El-Abd (groin) and Louis Dodds (calf) are major doubts after coming off in the 1-0 win over Bradford, while Ryan McGivern is definitely out with a shoulder injury.

Fellow defenders Jack Grimmer and Olly Lancashire have been struggling with ankle and hamstring injuries respectively.

Defender Charles Dunne has suffered a setback and will not feature for Oldham.

While the club this week exited their transfer embargo and were able to trigger the extension in Dunne's short-term deal, a pelvic problem could keep him out for the next five weeks.

Lee Croft (hamstring) continues to miss out and the same injury is causing concern for Darius Osei after he came off in the win over Gillingham last weekend.

Manager John Sheridan is hopeful of adding to his squad now the embargo has been lifted and after guiding Latics to their first league victory in three months.
