Taylor missing for Shrews

Shrewsbury manager Graham Turner has confirmed winger Jon Taylor will miss the clash with Notts County with a knee injury.

The problem forced the Wigan youth product to sit out last weekend's 3-1 defeat at Port Vale. He is expected to be on the sidelines for another two to three weeks.

Turner left right-back Ryan Woods on the bench at Vale Park but is set to recall the youngster for the visit of the League One basement side.

The likes of David McAllister, Paul Parry and John Marsden may have to wait for a return to the starting line-up after Wednesday's reserve team game against Vale, which they were set to feature in, was called off.

Mark Fotheringham will miss Notts County's trip through suspension but Danny Haynes and Dean Leacock return from bans for the Magpies.

Fotheringham received his fifth yellow card of the season during the 1-0 home defeat to Wolves last weekend - Shaun Derry's first league game in charge of the club - and he will serve a one-match ban at Greenhous Meadow.

David Bell is a contender to replace Fotheringham in midfield after playing an hour for the development squad on Wednesday night.

Striker Danny Haynes is available to Derry for the first time after completing his three-match suspension while captain and centre-half Leacock served a one-game ban against Wolves.
