Taylor sits out Boxing Day
Jon Taylor is set to miss Shrewsbury's Boxing Day clash at home to Notts County.
The in-form winger put Town in front with his third goal in as many games against Bury on Friday night before being forced off with a hamstring injury late on, after which the home side responded with a 90th-minute equaliser to secure a 2-2 draw.
Manager Graham Turner said: "It looks as though he may have tweaked a hamstring and that looks pretty serious with the games coming thick and fast, I've just got to hope it's not too bad."
Luke Rodgers managed an hour against the Shakers despite struggling with illness but should be okay to line up against his former employers.
Shrews are already without midfielder Luke Summerfield, who has been forced to undergo a hernia operation having been playing through the pain barrier.
But Mark Wright will be assessed as he aims to make his return from a knee injury.
Damion Stewart is unavailable for Notts County through suspension.
The former QPR defender was due to start his three-match ban against Leyton Orient on Saturday, but with the match being postponed due a waterlogged pitch, his suspension begins with the Shrews clash.
Fellow centre-back Dean Leacock may benefit from the postponement as he moves closer to a return to action following a hamstring injury.
Leacock and Lee Hughes, who has missed the last two matches through illness, will both hope to recover in time for the game.
Krystian Pearce has not featured for the Magpies since returning from a loan spell at Barnet but is an option to manager Keith Curle should Leacock miss out.
Following back-to-back defeats, Curle will be hoping for a response from his players to get their promotion push back on course.
