Shrewsbury boss Micky Mellon set to field new-look team against MK Dons

New-look Shrewsbury are likely to field several debutants when they host MK Dons.

Boss Micky Mellon has again rebuilt the squad at Greenhous Meadow after they beat relegation from Sky Bet League One last season.

Ollie Lancashire, Adam El-Abd, Jim O'Brien, Ryan McGivern, Joe Riley, Antoni Sarcevic and Gary Deegan all joined in the summer.

Fellow new boy AJ Leitch-Smith and Andy Mangan are Mellon's only senior strikers after Tyrone Barnett joined AFC Wimbledon this week.

MK Dons are preparing for the game with question marks over the fitness of a number of players.

Ben Reeves and Dean Bowditch appear likely to miss out, with Daniel Powell touch and go.

However, David Martin - another to miss the Dons' pre-season loss to Stevenage - played an hour against Liverpool Under-21s earlier in the week and may be available.

New signing Chuks Aneke is recovering from knee surgery and will not be fit to play, but goalkeeper Lee Nicholls - a new arrival from Wigan - is in contention.
