Sullay Kaikai and Ian Black could make Shrewsbury debuts against Crewe

Sullay Kaikai and Ian Black could make their Shrewsbury debuts in Saturday's home Sky Bet League One clash against bottom side Crewe.

Crystal Palace winger Kaikai on Thursday joined on loan until January, while midfielder Black, who had been on trial at Greenhous Meadow after leaving Rangers in the summer, penned a two-year deal with the Shrews earlier in the week.

Liam McAlinden and Scott Vernon are pushing to start after playing in the reserves' 3-3 draw with Walsall in midweek.

James Wesolowski is out for the season after suffering his second cruciate knee ligament injury this year earlier this month.

Striker Marcus Haber could be restored to the Crewe team in Saturday's match.

Haber was an unused substitute in the 3-1 loss to Millwall last time out having only just returned from international duty with Canada.

There may also be involvement for George Cooper, Ryan Wintle and Callum Ainley - all three having impressed in the reserves' last outing - as Crewe continue to search for their first win of the campaign.

Billy Bingham (hamstring) is not yet ready for first-team action despite having resumed light training, while fellow midfielder James Jones (shoulder) is back kicking a ball but is still thought to be around four weeks away from his return.
