Mkandawire back for Shrews

Shrewsbury expect Tamika Mkandawire to return to contention for the visit of Coventry.

The centre-back missed last weekend's 2-2 draw at Rotherham due to the birth of his daughter but returns to face the Sky Blues, whom Shrews completed the double over last season.

Striker John Marsden (foot) and defender Dave Winfield (hamstring) remain sidelined for around another six weeks despite making progress with their respective recoveries.

Manager Graham Turner was only able to name five of the allotted seven substitutes last week and is keen to boost Town's depleted ranks before the close of the summer transfer window.

Coventry will assess four players ahead of the short trip, although captain Carl Baker does come back into the fold.

Striker Leon Clarke is struggling with a calf injury, left-back Blair Adams is battling against a hamstring problem, midfielder Billy Daniels has missed training this week with a stomach virus while Adam Barton is a doubt due to a knee complaint.

The quartet will all hope to train on Friday as the Sky Blues aim for the victory which would move them on to zero points following their 10-point deduction for going into administration.

One positive for boss Steven Pressley is the return of Baker after a three-match suspension.
