The Shrews were beaten 1-0 by Gillingham, with Simeon Jackson scoring the winner in injury time. And Simpson has set about his job of rebuilding his squad for a renewed challenge next season by letting a number of players go. Nick Chadwick and Neil Ashton, both of whom played at Wembley, have been told that they have no future at the Prostar Stadium while Moses Ashikodi, Ben Herd, Michael Symes, Stephen Hindmarch and Jasbir Singh will follow them out of the exit door. A number of players have been offered new deals, though, with Darren Moss, Kelvin Langmead, Ben Davies, Chris Humphrey, Steve Leslie and Omer Riza all mulling over contract proposals. "It is a horrible day and just as you think you can't get any lower than Saturday you have to come in and deal with this," Simpson told his club's official website.
