Shrewsbury deny Constable switch

The striker has bagged 21 league goals for the Blue Square Premier promotion hopefuls whilst on-loan at the club this season and has already expressed his desire to remain at the Kassam Stadium. Oxford released a statement on their official website on Friday confirming Constable had turned his loan deal into a three-year stay, with the player himself saying: "I love playing for the club and I am more than happy to be here for the next few years." However, with the transfer deadline having already passed, Shrewsbury insist Constable - who still has a year remaining on his contract at the Prostar Stadium - remains on their books and that any contract he may have signed is not legally binding.
