Ryan Valentine opened the scoring in the fourth minute of Tuesday night's League Two clash at Edgar Street with a low shot from the penalty spot before Gavin McCallum added a second in the 31st minute.[LNB]Waide Fairhurst pulled one back for Shrewsbury on the stroke of half-time but the visitors failed to find the net again, despite putting Hereford under heavy pressure in the closing stages.[LNB]"We didn't start properly, it's as simple as that," said Simpson. "It drove me mad when we came off after the warm-up saying how fantastic it was when everyone felt good.[LNB]"We started the game like that and conceded a penalty but before that we should have cleared our lines. Whether it was a penalty or not it was too hard to say from where I was sitting. It looked as though it was a clean tackle but it was from behind.[LNB]"But we shouldn't have allowed that to happen, we allowed someone to get a run-in and we haven't tracked their second goal when we allowed them to do a one-two. To be a good side you have got to start the game properly and we haven't done that."[LNB][LNB]
