Shrews will not replace McMahon

Shrewsbury Town manager Paul Simpson has approached specialist coaches to fill the gap left by assistant manager John McMahon's departure to Liverpool. McMahon has moved to Anfield as head coach of the Reds' reserve team. Simpson told BBC Radio Shropshire: "I'd like to bring in people with specific skills to work on specific areas. "I've got some people in mind, but I want it sorted in the next few days, well before the players return for pre-season training." The former Preston boss added: "It gives me the chance to juggle the budget and bring in a couple of members of staff that can benefit everybody. "Hopefully it'll bring us more voices, more opinions and more expertise to help the players. "What I have to do is look around and try and get a backroom staff that can maximise everything we have got at the club."
