Shrews take on Brewers in opener

Paul Simpson's men, who lost the play-off final to Gillingham last season, then face back-to-back away games at Barnet (August 15) and Dagenham (August 18) before returning to the the ProStar Stadium to take on Chesterfield (August 22). Shrewsbury's two derby clashes against Hereford are scheduled for November 24 (away) and February 13 (home), while the promotion hopefuls will host title favourites Rotherham on December 1 with the reverse fixture taking place at the Don Valley Stadium on February 23. Boxing Day will see Simpson's side host Macclesfield before facing a tough trip to promotion hopefuls Bradford on December 28, and the Shrews will begin 2010 with an away clash at Chesterfield (January 2). Torquay and Notts County will be Shrewsbury's opponents over the Easter Period with Simpson's men travelling to Plainmoor on April 3 before hosting Ian McParland's side two days later (April 5). Shrewsbury wrap up the season with a trip to Port Vale on Saturday May 8.
