Shrews boss eyes promotion push

Town have slipped to ninth in League Two having spent most of the season to date inside the top seven, however they still only remain two points away from third-placed Darlington.[LNB]Yet Simpson is aware his side must pick up more points between now and May than they have over the first part of the campaign if they are to realise their promotion ambitions.[LNB]"It's disappointing looking at the table now having dropped out of the play-off positions, but maybe that's the kick up the backside we all need to push on and give it that extra bit more," Simpson told the club's official website.[LNB]"I still don't think it's all doom and gloom, you look at the league table and Darlington are sat there in third position and probably thinking they're having a great time, but if we win on Saturday we can go above them, not necessarily into third but we can go above them on points.[LNB]"If you look at the two points per game we need to gain promotion, we're 11 points short of that and that's disappointing, so this next 21 games we need to make sure we have a bigger points tally than we have for the first part of the season."[LNB][LNB]
