The striker was forced off after just 36 minutes of Saturday's 2-1 defeat at Darlington with an ankle injury and, although the club's medical staff are waiting for the swelling to reduce before a true assessment can be carried out, early indications suggest he could be out for around three weeks. The news will come as a big blow to manager Paul Simpson, who saw top scorer Dave Hibbert miss out at the weekend with an Achilles problem. He is set to see a specialist on Monday and the club are hopeful he could be okay for Saturday's home clash against Aldershot. Elsewhere, captain Graham Coughlan will return to the frame having served his one-match suspension on Saturday and, with the initial fixture against Stanley postponed due to a waterlogged pitch, he will be determined to guide his team-mates to a quarter-final clash against Bury. Simpson could opt to include goalkeeper Chris Neal in his matchday squad for the first time since August as he looks to try and force his way back into contention after recovering from a groin injury. The Shrews boss may also consider resting one or two members of his fragile squad, although the clash may come too soon for striker Omer Riza (ankle). Midfielders Craig Disley (knee) and Terry Dunfield (shoulder) and defender Mike Jackson (bone bruising) continue to miss out.
