Mixed feelings for Shrews boss

18 January 2009 12:47
Both sides were reduced to 10 men - Kyle Perry seeing red for Vale and Marc Pugh for Shrews - in a game which saw Richard Walker cancel out Steven Thompson's thunderous early opener. But Simpson believes his team had more than enough chances to put the game to bed.[LNB]He said: "We played very well and I don't think anyone could say anything different. We passed the ball very well and the system we played caused Vale a lot of problems.[LNB]"But we've really got to finish teams off in that position. We created openings and had the chances to do so, but in the context of the game it has to go down as a disappointing result.[LNB]"I honestly thought Marc Pugh was very unfortunate to get sent off, but it was a poor challenge by their centre forward on Kelvin, who was lucky not to get his nose broken.[LNB]"We had shouted to the referee to watch him because he had led with his elbow three times before that and got away with it."[LNB][LNB]
