McAllister hoping to return within month
Shrewsbury midfielder Sean McAllister is looking to return to training in around three of four weeks as he prepares to undergo a hernia operation.
McAllister has been troubled by the problem for the some time and with Shrews boss Graham Turner now boasting a healthy number of midfield options, he will finally go under the knife on Friday.
Meanwhile, Dave Raven is hoping to return to full training sooner rather than later having welcomed the benefits of an injection to his troublesome hip problem.
The defender has been missing since the 3-1 home defeat to Morecambe at the start of January and was expected to remain on the sidelines for some time yet.
But the recent treatment has aided Raven's immediate recovery and he is now starting his rehabilitation programme.
