Loss is heartbreaking - Turner

Manager Graham Turner could not hide his disappointment in the wake of Shrewsbury's cruel defeat to Southampton, claiming the manner of the loss was "heartbreaking". After coming off the bench in the 88th minute, David Connolly netted an all-important opener with his first touch before turning provider for Adam Lallana to wrap things up, much to Turner's dismay. "It's a heartbreaking way to lose a game and the silence in the dressing room says it all," he said. "We did very well - it was a disciplined performance. We worked hard and certainly deserved to take them back for a replay. "But such is the FA Cup and the heartbreak of football that we stuck to our plan for 90 minutes but then a second's lapse of concentration let them in. "I thought we had taken the sting out of them and we had the best chance of the first half through Dean Holden, but the FA Cup is now over for us for another year."
