Having been under the cosh for most of the first half of the League Two clash at Moss Rose, the Shrews scored on the break in the 54th minute with a flowing four-man move which ended in Steve Leslie clipping a neat chip to the far corner.[LNB]Former Liverpool trainee Craig Lindfield had two early chances for Macclesfield, placing a scissor-kick into the arms of goalkeeper David Button before firing a 10-yard snap shot inches wide.[LNB]Macclesfield should have taken the lead in the 33rd minute when Reneil Sappleton released Colin Daniel but the youngster could only slide his drive wide.[LNB]Shrewsbury took control of the game after they scored and should have added another when Dave Hibbert planted a volley wide.[LNB]Substitute John Rooney stung the hands of Button before Macclesfield wasted their best chance to equalise when Daniel blasted over in the closing stages.[LNB][LNB]
