Forward play must improve - Turner

Graham Turner insists Shrewsbury must up their quality in the final third if they are to end the goal drought that is contributing to their current slump in form. Town enjoyed a storming start to the season as they won five of their opening seven games to top the League Two table, scoring 13 goals in the process along with another six in cup competitions. But since their 3-1 home triumph over Northampton they have failed to taste success, have been dumped out of the Johnstone`s Paint Trophy and crucially scored just three times in five encounters. And Turner has warned his side: "We`ve got to do better at the other end with the chances we have. "You look at the make-up of the side and there`s a fair bit of firepower going forward and we`re not producing the final cross, the final pass or the execution of a finish. And that is obviously a cause of concern." As Turner considers how to rectify the situation, fringe players Steve Leslie, Benjamin Van den Broek, Tom Bradshaw and Lewis Neal will all be hoping to push their name to the forefront of his thoughts when Town`s reserve side travels to Burnley on Tuesday night.
