Wednesday continue charity drive

Published: 15 Jun 2009 - 14:14:00

The Owls donated their shirt sponsorship for the 2009/10 season to the children's charity and will now hand over up to £3 to the specialist hospital for every shirt sold following its launch on July 2. Wednesday chairman Lee Strafford said: "Hopefully, these could prove to be the most popular Wednesday shirts ever because of our partnership with Sheffield Children's Hospital and the superb quality of the kits produced by PUMA. "The more fans who buy Sheffield Wednesday shirts, the more money we are able to direct to the Children's Hospital Charity so we hope to see many thousands of Owls shirts being worn throughout Sheffield and across the world." The club will donate £1 to the charity for every shirt they sell for the first batch of 10,000. In the second batch, the donation per shirt will be doubled and if the Owls sell more than 20,000, each replica will mean a £3 payment to the hospital.
