Soares tips Owls to avoid drop

Sheffield Wednesday midfielder Tom Soares is convinced that the Owls will avoid dropping down to League One.

Alan Irvine's team have eight games left to preserve their Championship status but are currently one point above the drop-zone.

However, an upbeat Soares said: "It's difficult. We have to take every game as it comes but I really think, deep down, that we're going to stay up. Why not?

"We need to start picking up results. I can see us doing that. It's a massive game against Watford.

"I reckon we'll get the three points against them, but we'll just have to wait and see."
