Sheffield Wednesday have allowed four first-team players to leave the club after a solid season in the Championship.
A late surge saw the Owls challenge for a play-off spot, with boss Brian Laws making an instant impact following his arrival from Scunthorpe United.
That influence has now extended to plans for next season, with goalkeeper Chris Adamson, defender John Hills, midfielder Steve Adams and striker Barry Corr all released.
Meanwhile, striker Deon Burton is hopeful of signing a new contract at Hillsborough in the near future.
He told the Sheffield Star: "I hope to stay. My agent is talking to the club and everything seems very positive.
"I just want to finalise things. I'm very positive that something will be thrashed out and that I'll be here next season."
